Effective Date: May 28, 2025
BondiMatch is a matchmaking platform that connects families with nannies seeking childcare services. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights regarding that information. It applies to all users of BondiMatch's services, including our website and mobile applications (collectively, the "Services"), whether you are a parent or guardian seeking a caregiver ("Family") or a nanny/babysitter offering services ("Caregiver"), as well as any visitors to our site.
By using our Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. We process personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including U.S. privacy laws, the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), and Australia's Privacy Act 1988. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, "BondiMatch," "we," "us," or "our" refers to BondiMatch (the company operating the platform). "You" refers to you as an individual using our Services. Additional terms and conditions may be outlined in our Terms of Service.
We collect various types of information from and about our users to provide and improve the BondiMatch Services. This includes:
When you register or fill out your profile on BondiMatch, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, postal address, login credentials, and any other personal details you choose to provide. If you are a Caregiver, you might provide information about your identity, qualifications, experience, and references. If you are a Family, you might provide details about your household (e.g., number and ages of children) and the type of care you need.
The content you share on your profile or job postings is collected. This can include a biography, photographs, availability schedule, location or neighborhood, desired pay rate, and any other details you post about the services you need or offer. Families may share information about their childcare needs or household (such as schedules, children's interests or special needs), and Caregivers may share information about their skills, certifications (CPR, first aid, etc.), and preferences.
In some cases, we may collect additional information to verify your identity or background. For example, we might ask for a form of identification (like a driver's license or ID card) or run a background check or reference check with your consent. Any results from background check services or identity verification providers are also collected and used to enhance trust and safety on the platform.
If you make or receive payments through our Services (for example, if BondiMatch facilitates payments or subscription fees), we or our third-party payment processor will collect payment information such as your credit card number, banking details, billing address, and transaction history. (Note: BondiMatch itself does not store full financial account numbers or credit card CVV; such information is handled by compliant payment processors.)
We collect information from your communications with us and with other users on the platform. This includes messages you send through BondiMatch's messaging system, chat or call logs if our Service offers in-app calling or chat, and emails or other communications you send to customer support. We may monitor or review these communications as permitted by law, for purposes such as moderating content, preventing fraud, and providing customer support.
Like many online services, BondiMatch automatically collects certain information about your device and how you interact with our Services. This may include your device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, device identifiers, and usage logs (such as when you logged in, pages or profiles you viewed, clicks, and other actions on our site or app). We also use cookies and similar tracking technologies to remember your preferences, analyze site traffic, and personalize your experience.
If you choose to share location information, we may collect and use precise geolocation data from your device. For instance, our mobile app might ask your permission to use GPS data to show you nearby caregivers or families. You can control location sharing through your device settings. Additionally, you may provide location data explicitly by entering your address or zip code in your profile or job post to help find local matches.
We may receive information about you from other sources. For example, if you choose to log in or sign up via a third-party platform (such as signing in with Google or Facebook), we will receive certain profile information from that platform (like your name and email) as authorized by you and that third party. Also, if someone provides a reference or review for you, or if a Family provides emergency contact information for their child, we collect that information.
Generally, we do not seek to collect sensitive personal information unless necessary. However, depending on what you voluntarily share, the platform may handle some sensitive data. For example, Families might disclose health-related information about their children (such as allergies or medical conditions) to inform Caregivers, or Caregivers might share certain background information (such as ethnicity or religious considerations relevant to their caregiving). Providing such information is completely optional and at your discretion.
We use the collected information for various legitimate business purposes, including:
We use your information to create and manage your account, facilitate the matching process between Families and Caregivers, and generally operate the BondiMatch platform. For example, we use personal and profile information to display caregiver profiles to families (and vice versa) based on compatibility, to enable users to search for what they need, and to communicate match recommendations.
We use contact information and communications content so that Families and Caregivers can connect with each other through our platform (for instance, sending messages or scheduling interviews). If our Services enable payments, we use financial information to process transactions and to keep records of those transactions.
Your information helps us promote the safety and integrity of the platform. We may use personal identifiers and background information to verify user identities and run background checks (with consent) on Caregivers. We monitor communications and user activities to detect and prevent fraud, abusive behavior, violations of our Terms of Service, or other harmful activities.
We maintain and use your contact information and communications to provide customer service. For example, if you contact us with a question or an issue, we will use your information to respond, investigate, and resolve your concerns.
We may analyze your usage data, search history, and profile details to personalize your experience. This could include suggesting relevant caregiver or family profiles, customizing search results, showing content tailored to your interests, and otherwise customizing our Services to better suit your needs.
We use your email address, phone number or in-app notifications to send you important account or transactional communications. These include confirmations of actions, updates about the status of your matches or applications, and important security or service notices. Additionally, if you have opted in, we may send you promotional communications such as newsletters, special offers, surveys, or new service announcements.
We may process and retain your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations. For instance, we might keep records required by law or respond to lawful requests by government authorities.
Information is used to enforce our Terms of Service and other policies, to investigate potential violations, and to protect the rights, property, and safety of BondiMatch, our users, or others.
We may aggregate or de-identify personal information so that it no longer identifies an individual. We use this aggregated/anonymized data for purposes such as statistical analyses, developing new features, business analytics, and marketing. This data does not personally identify you, and we may use and share it freely.
We understand that your personal information is important, and we share it only in certain circumstances described below. BondiMatch does not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We only share information as needed to run our Services or as required by law, as follows:
Because BondiMatch's purpose is to connect Families and Caregivers, information you include in your profile or job posting will be visible to other users on the platform. For example, a Family seeking a nanny can view Caregiver profiles, and similarly a Caregiver can see a Family's job posting details. Your contact information is not shared publicly with other users unless you choose to provide it through the Service.
We share information with trusted third-party service providers who perform functions on our behalf to support our operations. This includes hosting providers, payment processors, background check services, email/SMS service providers, analytics providers, and customer support tools. These service providers are given access only to the information necessary to perform their specific services.
We will share your information with third parties if you specifically request or consent to it. For instance, if you choose to integrate or share information through a third-party application or service.
We may disclose your information when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or request. This includes responding to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process; cooperating with law enforcement; and protecting the rights, property, or safety of BondiMatch, our users, or the public.
If BondiMatch undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another company, sale of all or part of its assets, or financing, your personal information may be disclosed to the parties involved and ultimately transferred as part of that transaction.
You have a variety of choices regarding your personal information and how it's used. In addition, you may have specific legal rights under privacy laws in your region.
You can access and correct certain profile information at any time by logging into your BondiMatch account and going to your account settings or profile page. Here, you can update details such as your contact information, profile description, or job posting.
You may close your BondiMatch account at any time if you no longer wish to use our Services. This can typically be done through your account settings or by contacting us to request account deletion. When you close your account, we will remove your profile from the platform and stop displaying your information to other users.
You have the choice to opt out of receiving promotional emails or SMS messages from us. If you prefer not to receive these communications, you can click the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email, or adjust your email preferences in your account settings.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK, you have certain rights under the GDPR and UK data protection laws, including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent.
If you are a resident of California, United States, you have specific privacy rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information.
If you are in Australia, the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) gives you rights to access and correct the personal information we hold about you. You can request a copy of the information we have about you and ask us to correct any details that are out of date or inaccurate.
BondiMatch takes the security of your personal information seriously. We implement a range of administrative, technical, and physical security measures designed to safeguard your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include using secure server environments, encryption of data transmissions, firewalls and intrusion detection systems, and regular monitoring of our systems for vulnerabilities.
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. You can help protect your account by using a strong, unique password and keeping your login credentials confidential.
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When we no longer have a legitimate need or legal obligation to keep your personal data, we will securely delete or anonymize it.
BondiMatch's Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly allow individuals under 18 to create accounts as either Caregivers or Families on our platform. Users must be old enough to form a valid contract in their jurisdiction (in most cases, this means you must be 18 or older to register and use BondiMatch).
We understand that as part of the caregiving process, parents or guardians may provide information about their children (who are minors) to caregivers. Any personal information about children that is shared on our platform should only be provided by the parent or legal guardian and only as necessary for describing the family's care needs.
BondiMatch does not knowingly collect personal information directly from any child under 18. If you are a minor under 18, please do not use or provide any information on this site. In the unlikely event that we discover we have collected personal data from a child under 18 (without verifiable parental consent), we will delete that information as soon as possible.
BondiMatch operates globally, and your personal information may be transferred to or accessed by our team or service providers in countries other than your own. In particular, BondiMatch's primary operations may be based in Australia (and/or the United States), and our servers or service providers might be located in the United States, Australia, European Union member states, or other jurisdictions.
If you are located in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom, we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place when transferring your personal data outside of those regions. These safeguards may include using standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
If you are in Australia, your personal information may be transferred outside of Australia, for example to the United States or other countries where our contractors or service providers are located. By using BondiMatch, you consent to this transfer.
By providing us with your information or by using our Services, you consent to the collection, international transfer, storage, and processing of your information as described. We will always protect your data as described in this Privacy Policy, wherever it is processed.
We may update or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will post the updated Privacy Policy on our website and update the "Effective Date" at the top of the policy. If the changes are significant, we may also provide a more prominent notice to users (such as by email notification or a pop-up notice on our site or app) to inform you of the update.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. If you continue to use BondiMatch's Services after a Privacy Policy update takes effect, it will constitute your acceptance of those changes, to the extent permitted by law.
